Contemporary Details

Old meets new in this transformation of a 1970’s kitchen. Working with a great kitchen designer helps incorporate the client’s vision while extracting the best solutions in the practical realm. Knowing our clients wanted more open space, we connected the family room for an enhanced social environment. With the peninsula-style design of the island serving multiple purposes, the custom built features of this contemporary kitchen cater to a couple that loves to entertain. The cook is engaged with those seated, there’s a practical barrier between socializing and the workspace, and most importantly, with small children in the home, it provides a safety solution. The balance of bright and natural light creates a cheerful space, grounding the room with the dark rich quality of the hardwood floors, and tying in the original areas of the home.
